After the friendly reception, the recording of your personal data and the consultation with a radiologist of your choice, you will be prepared for the examination. The administration of a contrast agent is necessary for this examination. In contrast to the conventional X-ray contrast agents, the contrast agents used do not contain iodine, but consist of gadolinium, which means that undesirable side effects occur much less frequently. Your radiologist will provide you with extensive information about risks and side effects before the start of the examination. You will then be placed on a special MRI couch and will receive headphones to protect you from the loud examination noises, with which you can listen to your favorite music during the examination. Then you will be driven into the MRI. The MRI examination As soon as the characteristic loud knocking noises can be heard, the device works and the images are taken. During this time it is very important that you do not move. Several short sequences follow one after the other, all of which sound different. You will be personally accompanied by our staff at all times during the examination and informed precisely about the individual examination steps. The findings will be evaluated by your radiologist after the examination. Both the written results and the MRI images are then sent to you or your referring or further specialist. Your treating urologist will conduct the final consultation with you. On request, we will also be happy to refer you to specialists who are to be treated and provide you with an interpreter during the entire examination and to discuss the findings.
